Zambian Luxury Tented Camp

The scenic landscape of remote southern Africa is known for its rugged terrain and diverse wildlife, with many parks and safari areas. A custom RHI Stretch tent was carefully designed for use in this luxury tented safari camp.
RHI’s involvement in this project had the goal of making a highly practical yet beautiful shading solution to accent the stunning views overlooking the riverbanks of Western Zambia. The RHI team collaborated closely with architects to create a contemporary design that would deeply resonate with camp guests. Evident on the stays which are offset wood with the extensions of the supports creating an architectural piece in itself.

Not only chosen for their great aesthetic reasons, Functionally RHI Stretch tents were used to create a focal ambience for the outdoor dining area that also ensured ample shade to all guests. RHI’s dual layers of fabric are made in-house and were used create a secondary boundary layer to offset radiant heat, while at the same time allowing convective heat dispersion in the upper roof cavity. This is greatly beneficial during the extreme heat of the day whilst retaining warmth on colder nights. Temperature management in this super-hot locale was of vital importance in the design of this camp.

Meticulously designed, engineered, and manufactured by the RHI team, the roofing membrane of the camp integrates these additional thermodynamic properties, providing a much-needed practical protection from the elements.
