Are you are a newcomer to the tent rental industry and looking to invest in your first stretch tent? Or are you an experienced tent rental company looking to expand your existing fleet?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this article is for you.
Choosing the right stretch tent sizes and colours for your fleet can be perplexing (even for experienced professionals!), which is why we’ve put together this guide discussing all the factors you need to consider when buying a stretch tent.
This article covers:
- Understanding the market and event type
- Modular design
- Climate
Understanding the market and event type
It is important for individuals and companies alike to understand the market you will be servicing, as this is a determining factor of the tent size and colour.
Due to the surge in interest when stretch tents are introduced to a new market, companies end up servicing markets they didn’t plan on, and organically grow their fleet of stretch tents accordingly.
Private functions in people’s homes will generally require a small to medium size tent: 5m x 6m – 10m x 15m. Colour won’t be as important for these types of functions as it would be for, say, weddings, when more sophisticated colours like white or platinum are popular.
Corporate functions will generally require catering for a large number of guests, requiring a combination of medium to large size tents: 10m x 15m – 20m x 25m.
For festivals you may need a combination of small, medium and large tents, and variations of colour will be in demand, like red and black.
Modular design
RHI stretch tents are modular in design. This helps buyers enormously, especially if it’s their first purchase. Once you’ve decided on the type of events you plan to cater for, and how many people you’ll be catering for at those events, you can invest in three or four small to medium size tents that can link together. This way you can service both large and smaller types of events.
Climate
Rental companies operating in hot climates with little to no wind concerns tend to set up tents with the sides open in “floating” configurations, compared to colder climates when the sides will be closed.
When calculating how much floor space is needed, it is important to note that you lose around 1.5m of usable space along the sides of the tent that are closed to the ground.
